McNeill, Frank

Passed away August 27, 2020 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a long illness. Loving husband of Marie(nee Dulhanty) for over 59 years. Adored father of Dawn Marie Farquharson (Jay). Cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn and Brandon. He was the son of Frank and Catherine McNeill, born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada at age 12. He had a great passion for flying and aircraft, in fact, became a Flying Officer for the Royal Canadian Air Force. Frank will be forever remembered for his great sense of humour and his affiliation with St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Pickering, where he served as an active member for many years. Frank earned a BA from Acadia University and an MBA from McMaster University. He retired from the Royal Bank after many years of service. Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE (1057 Brock Road, North, Pickering, L1W 3T7 905-686-5589). The McNeill family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Palliative Care Team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for the care and attention shown to Frank and his family – words cannot express. Donations will be gratefully accepted for Alzheimer Foundation.

Marie, so sorry for your loss. I know about it because In yesterday’s service Doug prayed for your Frank right after our 20 year old Kaelyn who passed on the 24th. And so I started to search. Had many interesting interactions with Frank over the years - at least since 1993 (we are both in that church directory). So we each have one safe in the arms of our precious Jesus. My heart is double broken now. Peace to you, Marie.

To Marie, Dawn and All Family Members,

Our hearts are with you in the very great loss of Frank no longer being here with us. A most special person, Frank was a faithful member of the congregation at St. Paul's-on-the-Hill, and he was always at the Tuesday morning Bible Study Men’s Group whenever possible.

Unofficially appointed as the one to begin our Bible reading each week, Frank made great contributions to our discussions. He shared very meaningful memories and experiences, asked excellent and thought-provoking questions, and was quick to understand God’s heart and mind. This encouraged others to ask their questions and share their insights. We miss his great sense of humour and very thoughtful observations.

It is good to know Frank is with our Lord, and the certain hope of seeing him again means we grieve, but not as those who have no hope. May God's presence, comfort, and the deep peace he gives, be with each of you.

Our prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Frank's passing. I remember him as very tall, and always laughing. His laugh was deep and heartwarming. My consolences to Aunt Marie and Dawn on your loss.
