It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank Kenrick Pierre on April 10, 2023 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada @ age of 75, after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ann Pierre, daughters Sekina (Dion Minors), Seika (Sheldon Bradshaw), Sonia (Michael Davis, fiancé) and Sierra.Step dad to Marita and Eardley Simons. Loving Papa to grandchildren DaKari & Sarai Minors, Amaya Pierre and Serena Pierre-Bolvin. Frank is survived by three sisters and four brothers and their families located in Trinidad, St. Vincent, Ontario and Alberta, Canada.
He will fondly be remembered by the following relatives, the Pierre, Marcano, Belmar, Charles, Grannum, Noel, Daniel & Mohan families. As well as by friends Kevin Tom, Ray Atkinson, Rosalie Davis, Ann & Pam Dove, Phillip Herman, Clancy & Elaine Charles, the Cox, Coy and Bolvin families.
He was born on October 20, 1947 @ the Augustus Long Hospital, Pointe-a-Pierre, Trinidad and was the fifth child of Rosetta Pierre (nee Akam) and Allan Pierre. After graduating from the Trinidad & Tobago Hotel School and the John Donaldson Technical Institute in the late sixties, Frank had a long distinguished career in the Hospitality industry. He immigrated to Canada in the late seventies and lived in Rainbow Lake, Alberta where he worked in the oil fields and then Edmonton, where he worked for Genstar Cement. He returned to work in the Hospitality industry in 1984 until his retirement in 2014 from the Southampton Fairmont Hotel, Bermuda.
Frank was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was passionate about music, photography, traveling, cooking and entertaining. He loved a good fete / Trini party ; he also traveled regularly to Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival.
In memory of Frank and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Peel would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the Staff of Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Home, Mississauga, Ontario for their compassionate care.
