Frank George Connolly - 1943 - 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank George Connolly, who left us on July 3, 2026, at Uxbridge Hospital at the age of 83. Known affectionately to many as the “Master of Disaster”—a testament to his vibrant energy and unmatched sense of humour—Frank lived a life full of movement, laughter, and deep devotion to his family.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1943 to Francis and Gracie Connolly, Frank immigrated to Canada as a young man. He was a proud alumnus of Ryerson University, a foundation that launched a dedicated professional career. In his early years, he worked in the potash industry alongside his mother, Gracie, before transitioning to a long and successful career as a manager with Shell, where his leadership and sharp wit left a lasting impression.

Frank was a man who simply could not sit still. He loved being on the go, whether he was meticulously cleaning the garage, maintaining the pool, or taking a drive in his prized British Racing Green Jaguar. An avid sports fan, Frank grew up playing hockey—most memorably with the Stingers—and spent his life cheering passionately for football, baseball, and hockey teams alike. Within his community, he was a familiar face at the curling rink and anywhere a dog-related event was taking place. Frank had a profound, lifelong love for dogs, owning many throughout his years and loving each one with all of his heart.

Those who knew Frank best will remember him as a true jokester, a man with a great sense of humour who could easily put a smile on anyone’s face. But beneath the jokes was a fiercely caring man with a massive heart. He lived by the belief that life is best shared, always advising those he loved to "surround yourself with a great group of people and friends." He practiced exactly what he preached.

Frank is reunited in peace with his parents, Francis and Grace, and his sister, Linda. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his children, Alexander, Grace, Carrie, Kevin, and Chris, and his cherished grandchildren, Aidan, Alexis, and Elisha. He will also be fondly remembered by his close nieces, Diane and Kathy, as well as a wide circle of extended family and deeply valued friends.

Frank’s warmth, his advice, and the smiles he gave so freely will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Frank’s generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or SickKids (The Hospital for Sick Children).

Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) for Visitation & Viewing on Tuesday July 14th from 10:00am - 11:00am. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00am . Private Cremation to take place at a later date.
