Francisco found work as a cabinet maker where he worked for the next 24 years. His grandson, Matthew, was born in 1981. Traciaglly, his daughter Joanna died in 1996. Retirement allowed him to visit his numerous friends and enjoy socialing at the Toronto Portuguese Club. Fransisco also made time to go fishing with his family.

Fransisco is survived by his wife Cidalia, his grandson Matthew, his grandaughter in-law Deirdre, and his great grand childern; Lilliana and Bennett. He will be missed by friends and family in both Canada and Portugal.

Chico will forever be remembered as a funny and very caring man. As well as a phenomenal great uncle. He will be truly missed and his memory will carry on as we continue to celebrate life, unfortunately though, it will be without him. He was strong and fought till the very end and he is now at peace. We must stay strong ourselves now and celebrate that great man that he was. Chico, we love you so very much. Love Filipe.

“Espreitei a flor do jasmim quando a luz do Sol já serenava. O céu tinha a voz dos pássaros. O perfume das flores ali estava, à espera de pousar na mão aberta.” Miguel Torga (Alentejo)
