Frances Elizabeth McKenzie

August 11, 1946 - March 6, 2023

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances McKenzie on Monday March 6th, 2023 in the company of her loved ones. Predeceased by her husband Gerald McKenzie. Beloved mother of Raymond McKenzie (Cheryl), Carl McKenzie (Kellee), Gerald McKenzie (Sherry-Ann) and Mary Verge (Troy). Survived by her siblings, Shirly Austen (Doug) Hilda Harris (predeceased by Don), Dolores Poission-Doran (James), Barbara Smith (Phil), Harold Cotterill (Glenna), Derrick Cotterill (Jane) and predeceased by her sister Lillian Bischener (Fred). Frances will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Her contagious laugh and kind-hearted spirit will be sincerely missed. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787 from 11 am until time of service in the chapel at 12noon with burial to follow. Donations in memory of Frances can be made to Durham Region Hospice.

Frances was like a second mother to my sisters and I growing up; she was sweet, warm, kind, and she laughed SO much - if she laughed, you laughed. When I grew up she became a very good friend, always caring and thoughtful, and I am going to miss her more than I can say. ~ Gerry, Carl and Raymond, my heart goes out to you, and you are in my thoughts. Mrs.Mckenzie was the sweetest lady. Could never call her Frances. She was my moms dear friend and we kept in touch after my mom
Passed. I am truly sorry for the families loss of such a light🦋🦋🦋she really was. Peace to you. 🦋🦋🦋🦋
