Po Po,
I have never met you but came across your story on the news and was deeply saddened by your death.
Rest in Peace.
I have known Lum Por since 1966.
She was my Godmother's mother.
The Lee sisters Helen, Susie, and Pearl are like my own sisters. Growing up in Parkdale, I always hung out with them. If they went to visit their grandmother, I would tag along too. Lum Por was always so sweet and welcoming. One of my favorite memories was when Susie and I went to visit her at her house on Cowan Ave.
I had decided to take a selfie with the three of us. After doing so I showed it to Lum Por and without hesitation she asked " if this picture is showing the three of us, then who took the picture?"
Susie and I laughed so hard...man oh man was she ever sharp at 107!!
I will miss her too.

My aunt was a loving, generous, and kind. She helped our family when we were in need. She sponsored our family to Canada; offered us accommodation until we were financially able to stand on our feet.
Rest in peace my dearest aunt. We love you, miss you|.
My family knew Mrs. Lum for well over 50 years. She had always been known as a strong and resilient woman. Her many accomplishments will surely be an inspiration to all who seek justice, whatever the cause.
Canada is a more richly diverse and welcoming country because of the courage and activism of Foon Hay Lum.
She takes her place as one of the great Canadian social justice activists, and we are all better off for her work and tireless advocacy. RIP
