In memory of
Florentina Conceicao Bilo
July 29, 1954 -
December 15, 2023
Florentina (Tina) Bilo died peacefully on December 15, 2023, at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her children as she drifted into eternal sleep. Tina will be missed by her loving family: daughter Paula Bilo-Dickman (Daniel), son Jack, grandson Timothy, siblings Gracinda Siatra (Manuel), Jorge Redondo, countless family in Canada, Portugal, and the USA as well as all who knew her enthusiastic, determined personality. Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Gestrudes and Manuel Inacio Redondo, and her older brother Anacleto Redondo.
Tina Bilo was born in Alcacer do Sal, Portugal. She emigrated to Canada in 1979 in search of a better future for her family. She became a proud member of the Portuguese-Canadian community in Toronto.
Tina graduated from Hayden Park and Success Business College. She was a lifelong learner. Tina worked as a professional seamstress and had a passion for clothes. She worked extensively with leather, fur and wedding dresses. Her later life was dedicated to prayer, volunteering in church and various community organizations, and making traditional Portuguese home-cooked meals.
Tina passed away at Toronto Western Hospital from complications of an unexpected stroke, her second in two months, from which she unfortunately could not recover. Our family is thankful for the care and support received from the ICU team at Toronto Western Hospital and West Park Rehabilitation Hospital.
A memorial service will take place on Friday January 12, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary’s Parish, 588 Adelaide Street West, Toronto. Entombment of the cremated remains will follow at Prospect Cemetery-Last Supper Mausoleum, 1450 St. Clair Avenue West.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Florentina’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/) or the Magellan Community Foundation (https://magellancommunityfoundation.com/), organized to support the needs of the Portuguese Canadian Community.
Vai com Deus que Ele te abençoe!
