Just a few months shy of her 97th birthday, Fereshteh Rahnemay-Rabbani, who began her storied life in Tehran, Iran in 1928, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto on 1 November 2024. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Ali-Mohammed Rabbani in 1998, and her cherished son Afshin in the same year. She is survived by her loving daughters Afsoon and Elham, and her daughter-in-law, Diane. Fereshteh was a treasured grandmother to Anushe (Jeff), Sahba (Vitoria), Anissa, Darian, Nathan, and Ava, and a loving great-grandmother to Ozren and Naia. She was also a dear sister to Hossein, Forouzandeh, Derakhshandeh and Shokouh, and an esteemed aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Fereshteh Rabbani will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made. A Baha'i Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road, Richmond Hill, Ontario on November 4th at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at the Elgin Mills Cemetery.
