It is with great sadness that I heard of precious Fereshteh's passing. I will always remember meetings her the first time and how she taught me how to remember and pronounce her name. With a smile on her face she said - just remember fresh - tea! I will always remember fresh-tea and her kindness and tender heart. Praying for her family now at this great loss . My deepest condolences to you. Love Ruth.

Fereshteh Khanzadeh was born on September 11, 1968, in Ahvaz, Iran, to her loving parents, Hasan and Parvin. The youngest of five siblings, she moved with her family to Tehran at 13 during the Iran-Iraq War and later earned a bachelor’s degree in English.

She met Kambiz Vatanabadi in 1993, and they married on November 2, 1995. They welcomed their son, Arya, in 1999 and moved to Canada in 2001 to begin a new chapter. Their daughter, Avin, was born in 2008, completing their family, along with their beloved dog, Coco.

Fereshteh was a gifted artist and designer, known for her beautiful paintings, impeccable fashion sense, and talent for sewing. Her home reflected her refined taste, and her passion for gardening brought life and beauty to every space she touched.

She dedicated herself to her community, volunteering at church and school, fundraising, and welcoming newcomers with kindness. Adventurous and curious, she embraced new experiences, from thrilling activities to quiet moments spent reading and studying the bible.

In 2020, Fereshteh was diagnosed with cancer, a battle she faced with strength and grace. On March 18, 2025, at 5:27 PM, she passed away peacefully, with her husband holding her hand.

Her legacy of love, creativity, and generosity will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
