Ferdinand Boehm

September 22, 1934 -  March 4, 2023

Ferdinand Boehm, also known as Ferdl or Fred, 88, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Scarborough General Hospital on March 4, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1934 in Viskovci, Yugoslavia to Nikolaus and Juliana Boehm.

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Rosina Boehm (Nee Mark), his son Ronald Boehm (Candace), his daughter Karen Fok (Gregory), his beloved grandchildren Nathan and Anika Fok, his brother Joe Boehm (Martha), his sisters-in-law Rosi Boehm, Agnes Mark, Eva Mark and all his wonderful nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his younger brother Nick Boehm and his brothers-in-law Melchior and Anton Mark.

He Immigrated to Canada in 1953 with his family and they settled in Toronto. He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church through which he met the love of his life, Rosina, They got married in 1961 and started their family soon after.

He was a proud member of the Donauschwaben Club in Toronto and a founding member of the Donauschwaben Park. He cherished the relationships that were developed over the years while being a part of these wonderful communities. He loved spending time at both places.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Road, north of St. Clair Ave E, Scarborough, 416-267-8229) on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Visitation 10-11:30am, Funeral Service 11:30am with burial to follow. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada, Scarborough General Hospital or the Blue Danube Canadian Benevolence Society.
