鄧静暉 Fay Ching-Fai Tang

November 12, 1935 -  January 21, 2024

Dr. Fay Ching-Fai Tang was born on November 12, 1935, in Guangzhou, China, and passed unexpectedly on January 21, 2024, in Toronto, ON, Canada at the age of 88.

Dr. Fay Tang practised clinical psychology in Toronto for almost 45 years. She was consulting with patients up to her untimely demise. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan in 1958, and her Master of Arts in 1964 and her Doctor of Philosophy in 1979, both in Psychology from the University of Ottawa.

In carrying on the family's long tradition of philanthropy, Dr. Fay Tang established the TANG Foundation in 2006 to raise the awareness and importance of the field of psychology to health and well-being in society. The Foundation recognizes and awards a significant monetary prize to psychologists who have made substantial and exceptional career contributions to the field of psychology. Dr. Fay Tang served as founder and president, with three awards to date.

She was a patron of the arts. She enjoyed classical music, singing in a choir and attending the opera.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, 9am-11am at the York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York, ON M2N 5Z5.

Dr F Tang was a dedicated member of the Journal Club of Chinatown Physicians
(JCCP) . She had supported the production of Health Digest via translating and writing articles to / in Chinese . The team is very grateful of her generosity of contribution of her time and professional knowledge . She will be missed.
