In memory of

Wayne Edward "Captain Fog" Farrant

April 1, 1948 -  August 2, 2022

Following a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Wayne Edward Farrant (Captain Fog), in his 74th year, passed away with his wife and family at his side. Born April 1, 1948 to George William Farrant and Doris Mildred Agostinelli. Loving husband for almost 32 years to Cathy Farrant. Proud father of Paul Farrant (Manasi), Mark Farrant (Jennifer), Tracy Lamb (Eric) & Ryan Landry (Leah). Cherished grandfather of Logan, William, Evan, Sylvie, Max, Senthil and Aria. Dear brother to George Farrant (Deb). Wayne will also be fondly remembered by Nancy Stewart. Wayne had a love for sailing, rock music and was a very talented guitar player, a talent that will live on through his two sons.

A celebration of life in Wayne’s memory will follow at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in honor of Wayne, the family asks that all proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society and please ensure to send an eCard to Cathy at captainfog@sympatico.ca.

Wayne was a wonderful person. A gentle soul with much history and trivia in his brain. Until he became Ill, he was a wonderful conversationalist. He will be truly missed.
We loved you and will miss you ❤️ Condolences to the family.

My love and condolences for your loss of Wayne.
He was a wonderful person and a special cousin to me - one of the first people to hold me when I was born, and a close presence in my life my first years living on the same street. He was kind and patient, indulging me when I invited him to my dolls' tea parties and showing me how he made his plasticine models. He was part of the basement band with my brother, and party of my intro to rock music. I know you all meant the world to him. May your memories bring peace and comfort as you miss and remember him.

I have so many wonderful memories of cousin Wayne. We lived a few houses apart as young children, spent weeks together at Balsam Lake as pre-teens, worked part time at the same nightclub and played in basement bands in our teens. A wonderful guy with a great sense of humour and a clever wit. He was very creative artistically with his hands and his music. I wish we hadn't lived so far apart in our adult lives.

I have known Captain Fog since high school and had the pleasure of playing guitar with him at Woodcot for over 30 years. He was an accomplished guitarist who was at his best on many a Friday night in July, after a few “pops” when he really let go. He was a kind, gentle soul who was dedicated to his family and to his precious wife Cathy.
Rock on Brother.

As a new pupil in December 1959 I was ushered into Mr. Wright’s grade 6 class at West Humber Public School. I was seat opposite Wayne in a pod of 6 pupils. That was the beginning of friendship that would span nearly 63 years. We shared many good times and a few bad times. I will miss my dear friend especially at our annual gathering in Muskoka. – Bill Latham
