Evelyn Lanuza, 67 years old, passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario. Evelyn Lanuza was born on January 24, 1957, in the Philippines. She came to Canada in 1990 to work as a Caregiver. For many years Evelyn worked at various long-term care homes, private homes, and hospitals providing direct care, personal assistance and support to patients who are ill, elderly and disabled, which suited her servant heart.
Evelyn was a private and quiet person, but also witty and fun. She was fearless, brave, and independent yet sensitive and compassionate. She was caring, loving, hardworking, dedicated, faithful and thoughtful soul. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking goodies, gardening, and spending time with her relatives and friends.
Even though Evelyn was far away from her family, she helped and supported them and loved her entire family very much.
She was actively involved in her church, Flemingdon Park Pentecostal Church. She had active roles in her church serving as deaconess and had a leadership position. She participated in outreach ministry. She was taking up offerings at church, ensuring funds were counted accurately, balanced, and deposited.
She also volunteered with local charities. She was known for her generosity and kind heart. The most precious thing in her life is God, her family, relatives, and friends.Evelyn will be deeply missed and remembered by many lives she touched.
Evelyn is survived by her adopted daughter, Alyssa Mae Lanuza; her sister, Elizabeth Lanuza and her son Jamie Lanuza; her brother and spouse, Richard Lanuza and Bella Lanuza and their children, Ricabel Lanuza, Richardson Lanuza and Ryan Lanuza, and their four grandsons; her brother and spouse, Ricafort Lanuza and Gloria Lanuza and their children, Charmine Rose Lanuza and Sarah Jane Lanuza; her sister-in-law, Cora Lanuza and her children, Romeo Lanuza Jr. and wife Nellie Lanuza, Andy Lanuza, Ariane Mae Lanuza and Antonette Lanuza; her brother and spouse, Rey Lanuza and Nida Lanuza and their children, Jeffrey Lanuza and Carol Lanuza and their two children; and her sister and spouse, Erlyn Pablo and Roger Pablo and their children, Rogelyn Clarin and husband Glen Clarin and their daughter, Ettyle Maria Lanuza, Angelica Legacion and husband Dong Legacion, and Lara Pablo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arcado Lanuza and Antonia Lanuza, and younger brother Romeo Lanuza. Now our beloved Evelyn is with the Lord and her parents and younger brother.
Relatives and friends are welcome for viewing on June 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pine Hills Funeral Centre, Taylor Massey, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, Ontario.
