Eugene Hazi passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on June 15, 2023 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Anne for 55 years. Friends and relatives will be received at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York on Monday, June 19 from 10 - 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Followed by burial and reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 432 Sheppard Ave E, North York, ON M2N 3B7

My dear Anne: Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your dear husband, Eugene. He was truly a gentleman and a scholar - his collection of very important books was something he loved. You cared for him so well through so many difficulties. You know he is now at peace. I was happy that in his last few weeks he was able to enjoy the iPad and the internet. Please find a nice fluffy white cloud in the sky, make yourself comfortable and just check out what we are doing and please warn us of any danger. While I am driving and look up to the sky and see a fluffy white cloud I'll know it's you sitting on it!
Trust me, I will hear it as I can hear/feel my Mother protecting me.
We will miss your presence but the years of memories will never fade. Thank you for all the years if your friendship! Missing you already! Till we meet again....
