Ethel Elizabeth Jane Williamson
March 4, 1929 – May 15, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Elizabeth Jane Williamson on May 15, 2020, at The Gibson Long Term Care facility. She is predeceased by her husband Norman James Williamson and more recently, her close companion, Hugh Nelson. She will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Elizabeth Williamson and her son-in-law, Fabrizio Mastronardi. Ethel had a fondness for crafts, knitting, traveling, puzzles, films, the arts, and animals. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a long career as a hairdresser. Ethel dedicated much of her free time to volunteerism. She will lovingly be remembered for her kindness, generosity and spirited energy. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Gibson Long Term Care who provided exceptional care, particularly during the past few weeks. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to The Forgotten Ones Cat Rescue, or an organization of your choice in her memory.

Aunt Ethel was one of my favourite people in the world. Not only was she ever-present and loving during my childhood, but she became a cherished friend. So many good memories, for which I am grateful. I especially treasure the times with her and Hugh, sharing pizza dinners and wine, old and new stories and photographs. She tried so hard to teach me to knit and more than once patiently fixed my mistakes. More than once, even during her senior years, she insisted on walking me to the bus stop after our visits (to make sure I was safe).I am very, very grateful to have known her and loved her and experienced her love. May she rest in peace, surrounded by loved ones who've passed, knowing she will never be forgotten.
