Eshwari Rao

November 28, 1940 -  July 27, 2020

Sadly, we lost our mother / grandmother (nainamma) earlier this week. While she had many ailments, she managed to work with them and continue to live her life with support from her family and friends. With the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, all that changed and it had a devastating impact on her life.

Having been widowed for 25 years, she still never complained about her life, where she was and who she was with. Well maybe a little, and for those who know her, we always believe that when she was upset with her sons, things were right in her world. We always used her irritation as a badge to make sure she continued to fight.

Her last few years were a testament to a time where she saw everything from the eyes of a child. Curious, but never disappointed, jaded but still trusting. We will miss her smile when she was willing, her laugh, and the way she sang around the house when she was happy.

Dear Prasad and Sunita

We do not have words to express our sadness at your loss. Words feel inadequate at a time like this.

Sadly missed along life’s way,
quietly remembered every day.
No longer in our life to share,
but in our hearts, she is always there.

We had a long association with your parents. We met her first in 1990 when we heard that you both might get married. We introduced ourselves as Sunita’s Canadian parents. She was very kind to us. Both your parents visited us in Collingwood a few years later. The last time we saw her was at a Telugu Seniors Society a year or two ago. She was always smiling and kind to us.

While we know that these words are only a small gesture of support, we want you to know that Smt. Eswari's spirit has touched our lives. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. You and the family need a lot of strength at this time and we pray to god that he gives you the same.

Please accept our deepest sympathies to you and the family. We will pray that her soul may rest in peace.

I visited her several times when Eswari garu was in Richmond hill seniors residence. We live in Richmond hill. We both always used to admire her beautiful photo with her husband on the table there.

She was missing her Scarborough home and trying to adjust to her new home. She used to talk about that home, her garden there.

Rest In Peace Eswari garu! We miss you! We will meet you later for sure!
