Errol Levy

October 14, 1939 -  March 27, 2018

ERROL JAMES LEVY (October 14, 1939 – March 27, 2018)
LEVY, Errol James age 78 of Brampton, formally of New Kingston, Jamaica, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2018 at Hawthorn Woods in Brampton. Born in Jamaica he was the youngest son of the late, Ellis & Ruby (Dixon) Levy who both retired to Nepean area in the late 1960’s.
After our family migrated from Jamaica to Toronto, Canada in 1977, Dad found employment as sales manager with several companies, eventually retiring from Sears Canada at 55 years of age in 1994.
Errol was an avid singer/songwriter and band-leader who enjoyed performing live at public venues and on television. In Jamaica he wrote and recorded radio & TV jingles for commercials and has several pop singles and one album to his name. Dad was a deeply spiritual man and devoted much of his time to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (as local chapter president) and to leading the music at church. Dad also loved pets especially dogs!
Errol is survived by his wife of 56 years Jeanne (O’Connor), his sons Philip (Gail) Levy, Brian (Manon) Levy, Robin Levy, his daughter Katherine Henderson and his older brother Charles (Alison) Levy.
Dad leaves behind six grandchildren Eric, Adrian, Roman, Ruby Levy, Taj and Kane Henderson.
Dad is predeceased by his brothers Richard (Lorice) Levy, Edward (Joan) Levy, and three of his grandchildren Christopher, Kathleen and Christine Levy.
A memorial service celebrating Dad’s life will be held on Saturday April 21st from 2 pm in the Chapel located within the Meadowvale Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, ON L6Y 5L5. Although there will not be a viewing, visitors are invited to gather from 1:30 pm prior to the commencement of the memorial service where Dad’s cremated remains will be present. The burial will take place on the adjoining grounds of Meadowvale Cemetery immediately following his memorial service.

To my dear sister,Jeanne Levy , and my dear nephews and niece, as well as grand nephews and grand nieces, I just feel so much love and admiration for you all at this time.
I met Errol when I was either 12 or 13 years old in Jamaica and we all became good friends . Errol was always a firm but gentle soul and behaved with the utmost integrity.
He was spiritual and very giving of himself.
I was so happy when the entire family emigrated to Canada. Although I did not see them as much as I would have liked, we still managed to remain close.
I know that you will miss his presence but hopefully you can find a way to keep him close to you. The lessons learned and the memories of the vibrant man he was before his long illness intervened will stand us all in good stead.
Errol I shall miss you. I am very grateful for your presence in our lives and for the period and closeness of sharing this life together on earth for so many years.
I LOVE YOU ALL.
Uncle Huntley and Aunt Grace.

Errol, I so fondly remember playing the piano when we were in our early teens while you beautifully sang "Bless This House Oh Lord We Pray". Your passing has brought tears to my eyes but no doubt we will do it once again in Heaven. I'll be along soon enough. Rest in peace dear friend.
