In memory of

Enyd Floyd

August 30, 1934 -  October 10, 2024

Died peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by her family, on October 10, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Roger Floyd; loving mother to Lisa (Har) Grover, Anna Stolee and Peter (Vittoria) Floyd. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kyle, Jake (Julie), Hanna (Grant), Maddie and Jenna and her family back in Wales. Enyd was born and grew up in Drefach, Wales. She moved to London, England to teach and it was here that she met her future husband, Roger, at a Welsh Rugby Club dance. In 1957, she and Roger immigrated to Toronto, Canada, married in 1958 and started their family in 1959.

Enyd and Roger shared a love of travel, visiting destinations across Canada and abroad, particularly enjoying their annual winter getaway in Aruba. In 1971, Roger’s work took them to Australia where they lived for three years, travelled the country, and built lifelong friendships. Enyd was an extremely talented watercolour artist, painting portraits of her grandchildren and scenes from her travels and the family cottage. Her artistic legacy lives on through the paintings cherished by family and friends.

Enyd was a skilled tennis player, playing for her college team, then at the TCSCC where was a member for many years. She was an avid reader, supreme cryptic crossword solver, knitter, baker and she loved going to the casino in Aruba and family game nights. The grandchildren have many fond memories of baking, painting and playing cribbage or SkipBo with Nana, and affectionately remember the letters she wrote and little gifts she left "from the fairies" at the cottage.

Enyd lived such a full and wonderful life. She was deeply loved by her family and she touched so many people with her happy nature and kind soul. She will be remembered with fondness and love and will be deeply missed by so many.

The family is grateful to the PSWs, nurses and staff at Delmanor Northtown, her doctors and the other caregivers who supported her as her health declined.

A celebration of her life will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on Thursday, November 7 from 3-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arthritis Society Canada in her memory.

Enid was like a 2nd mother to me when I was growing up, she was always kind, caring and generous. I was friends with her daughter Lisa and I spent a lot of time at their home. I adored this woman and loved to be in her presence.
I have met her a few times over the years and she never changed. Always lovely and beautiful, my thoughts are for her adult children and her grandchildren.

Lisa, Anna and Peter,
I am so sorry to hear of your dear mother's passing. I have many memories of her growing up on Stibbard Ave. She was a beautiful lady. Thinking of you all and wishing you strength and comfort at this difficult time. Cherish the memories.
