In memory of

Ene Ludig

September 19, 1936 -  July 6, 2021

Ene passed away peacefully after a mercifully brief illness with pancreatic cancer. A month ago she was walking 45 minutes a day and 3 weeks ago she was diagnosed. She was a wonderful, caring person and will be truly missed by the many people she touched. She was passionate about the Estonian culture and community, involved in many areas. She loved Guiding, camping and teaching. Ene always put other people's needs ahead of her own and even during her last days, she wanted to make sure that everyone else was all right. Forever the optimist, her mantra was "vaateme mis homme toob" or "let's see what tomorrow brings". Wise words.

Per Ene's wishes we are not having a funeral. However, we will have a celebration of life later this summer. She did ask that you remember a special time spent with her, and share a smile. No flowers please, but if you would like, we have included a link for donations to Michael Garron Hospital, where she received exemplary care from some equally exemplary people.

We cherish the memory of Ene who was a dear friend and a wonderful person. She personified strength, gentleness, and strong character. We were fortunate to know her and spent many happy times with her and she gave a lot to us and our family

I never knew someone could covet a mother-in-law until I met Ene. She never made Tracy feel anything less than loved, just like her own children. And when Kristian and Evan came onto the scene, along with Kati, Duncan and Ellie, I was floored at how Ene’s capacity to love and dote on her grandchildren. I will miss you terribly, Ene.

My deepest sympathies to Kalle and his family.
I got to know Ene when I started teaching at Eesti Kool. She was an excellent teacher and everybody loved her. She was always very kind to me. Since we retired we had occasional get togethers at coffee shops. We had meaningful conversations about our time together at Eesti Kool, about our children and their families, etc.
I will miss her.
