In Loving Memory of Emily Leith

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Emily Leith. Who departed this world on 31st December 2023. Surrounded by her family. Emily left us to embark on her final journey, having lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for exploration.

Born on January 12th, 1942. Emily was a beacon of joy and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her magnetic personality and boundless energy touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Emily was a gregarious soul, effortlessly making friends wherever she went. Her infectious smile and warm spirit turned strangers into lifelong friends, creating a tapestry of friendships that spanned the globe.

Emily's love for travel was as insatiable as her desire to connect with people. She explored far-off lands, embracing diverse cultures, and immersing herself in the beauty of the world. Her tales of adventure were not just stories but invitations to dream and to see the world through her eyes. Emily's wanderlust knew no bounds. She instilled in her family and friends the importance of embracing and cherishing the journey.

Beyond her passion for travel, Emily was the heart of our family. She was always there for us, offering unwavering support and selfless dedication.

Of those who had the privilege of calling her mother, sister, and friend. May her spirit of adventure and love, live on in each of us. Guiding us as we navigate life's journeys with the same grace and joy that defined Emily's extraordinary life.

Emily is survived by her children James, Steven, grandchildren, and a network of cherished friends. Who will honour her memory, by living life with the same zest and enthusiasm she did.

A private memorial will take place on January 10th 2024, at Meadowvale Funeral Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Missing you already Aunt Emily - my hope is you’re at peace now and in no more pain. I have such great memories of you in Canada and when you visited Scotland. Energy and enthusiasm, as well as kindness and caring, are all the things that come to mind when I think of you.

You were there for me at the beginning with my Mum telling me how you had to get her to hospital when she finally went into labour with me. And you were there at the very worst time when my Mum died suddenly last year. Your strength, wisdom and love helped me and the family get through the days. To do that while you were grieving shows the kind of selfless person you are.

Much love always
Pauline
