So sad to hear about your beloved Emilia's passing. Though tiny in stature, she was a force to be reckoned with. We recall the trips to her homeland filled with long days of walking and climbing, well into her 80's, and with her younger family members finding it hard to keep up. We recall her strong sense of family and her dedication to all of her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and many other family members. She was wise and had a very practical view of life where she "told it like it was". Even so, she had a very big heart and she was happiest being with her family and telling stories about the old days along with a strong glass of rakia (that neither of us had the capacity to manage). We know the pain of the last few years in watching this amazingly strong woman slowly diminish. But, as a family, you made sure she was nourished with all of your collective love and attention. Now, she is at peace. Though physically gone from this world, the legacy that she left will live on in the generations that follow.... May you all be blessed with long, healthy lives filled with happiness and abundant love.
