It is with great sadness that the Meli family announces that Emanuel
“Leli” “Manny” “Nannu” Meli originally of Żebbuġ, Malta, passed away peacefully surrounded by
loved ones on Saturday May 27th in his home in Etobicoke after a brief
battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Francine, and
their children Anthony (Eleanor), Vicki (Ian), and Dave (Gisella) and
grandchildren Abbey, Melody, Isaac, Aurora, and Madeleine. Besides his
parents, Emanuel was predeceased by his sister Teresa and brother Sam, and is survived by brothers George (Doris) and Mario (Teresa), sister Doris (Eddie) and sister-in-law Katie.
A tailor by trade and craftsman at heart, he was often to be found in the
garage fixing, building, and adding to his many collections. In addition
to his vocation and hobbies, he enjoyed a career in upholstery during his
initial days in Canada, after which much of his working life was spent at
Canadian Pacific Airlines, later to be merged with Air Canada.

Services will be held at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre-
Mississauga at 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga ON L4W 5J1.
Visitation will be on Wednesday May 31st between 4pm and 8pm and the
funeral will be on Thursday June 1st at 10am presided by Fr. Yves
Fournier, followed by burial at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, ON L5T 1N4.
