In memory of

Elvira Karoline Paulsen (nee Winterbauer)

January 12, 1936 -  May 18, 2025

Elvira passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday May 18, 2025 @ 11:55am at the Milton General Hospital after a long battle.

She was born in Heidelberg Germany to Oskar and Karoline Winterbauer [nee Schwegler]. She was the youngest child of 6 and was a twin sister to the late Karl Oskar Winterbauer.

She left Germany in 1955 to start a new life in Canada. She married shortly after and raised 2 daughters on her own. She spent most of her career working as a Personal Support Worker. She loved animals and had fond memories of her childhood dogs.

She leaves behind her son-in-law & eldest daughter, Bradly & Heidi Linton [nee Paulsen], their 4 children [grandchildren] Stacey, Lindsay, Kyle and Alana. Her great grandchildren, Mason, TJ, Camryn and Sydney. Along with her youngest daughter, Elke.

She is survived by her older sister Edeltraut Peters, who lives in Germany and who is the last surviving sibling.

She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, both in Canada and Germany.

Elvira was one of the first friends I met here in Canada. She was incredibly sweet and had a wonderful sense of humor. I’ll always cherish our chess games, where she let me win! As fellow Capricorns, I see so much of myself in her. She was a truly strong woman. Elvira made me feel welcome in this country, and I will never forget her warmth and kindness. My heart goes to her family. To Elke, please know that I am here for you.
