With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce Elvenie passed peacefully on Wednesday October 27, at the age of 91. Born in Bangor on March 13, 1930, Elvenie (Venie) was a gentle and caring mother and teacher, who moved with her young family from Northern Ireland to Canada in 1957. She survived her loving husband of 61 years, Harry Bryan Smith, who passed in 2014. Elvenie leaves behind her sons, Mark and Neil, their spouses Ana and Andrea, her five adored grandchildren, Patrick, Aidan, Liam, Adele and Sydney, and by her sister, Beryl. She is remembered by her many friends, and by the families of her sisters, cousins, and in-laws in England, Northern Ireland, the United States and Canada. Friends may call at Pine Hills Cemetery & Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Monday November 1st, at 12 PM with a service to follow at 1PM.
