Joan MacLean

Surrounded by love and in the presence of God, Joan MacLean died April 2024 with her family at her side.

Joan will be remembered for her infectious laughter, beautiful smile, and warm, welcoming nature by her husband Sheldon, her daughters Andrea (Ernie) and Susan (John) and her granddaughter Mackenzie.

She is survived by her brother Lanny (Sally) and her sister-in-law Marnie. Joan was pre-deceased by her brothers James (Marnie), Gerry, Blain, Keith (Joyce), Gary (Josi) and her beloved sister Sharon (Don). She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, that she loved very much.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, located at 1535 S Gateway Rd, Mississauga, Ontario, (905-602-1580) on May 25th, 2024 with;

• Welcome reception from 1300- 1330 hrs
• Celebration of Life: 1330-1430 hrs
• Reception: 1430- 1600 hrs ET.

If you are so inclined, the family is collecting stories at the Celebration of Life to later create a scrapbook to honour Joan’s life.

Joan’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Malton Village Long Term Care for their exceptional care.

We would like to thank Dr. Tartaglia and the care team of the UHN Memory Clinic for their care and guidance.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge our extended families and friends who provided unwavering emotional support, guidance and love throughout her illness, for which we are eternally grateful.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Rossy Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Centre in Joan’s honour.

Joan & I worked many years together - sharing many laughs (and sometimes grumbling together). Joan had a great sense of humour as well as being very caring. My sympathy to Joan's family today and in the days ahead. I am sorry I cannot attend however you will be in my thoughts. Take care Deanna
