Elizabeth passed away in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family at Lakeridge Health Ajax on December 18, 2024 in her 84th year. Cherished wife of Thomas for over 29 years. Beloved mother of Shawna (Graham). Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents John and Ann Carman, by her son Robert, her brother Patrick, her first husband Edward Appleton and step-father Ronald Norris. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, gentle nature and her humility. Betty was loved by everyone who knew her. The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the caring and compassionate nursing staff of the 2nd Floor North Tower of Lakeridge Health Ajax for professionalism shown to Betty and her family. Memorial visitation will be held at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787) on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6 pm - 8 pm. A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1 pm with visitation one hour prior. Following the service, there will be an inurnment at Union Cemetery followed by a reception at Thornton Funeral Centre. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society.
