In memory of

Elisa DiBiase

October 27, 1945 -  May 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elisa DiBiase, who left us peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Palena, Italy, Elisa built a beautiful life rooted in love, family and generosity. She immigrated to Canada and lived for many years in Toronto before settling in Wasaga Beach in 1999 with her beloved husband Luigi DiBiase. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, kindness, and cherished traditions.

Elisa was a devoted wife to Luigi, a loving mother to Paula (Alfredo) and Pino (Lisa), a very proud grandmother to Daniel (Caroline), Bianca (Bryan), Samantha (Silvio), Aidan and Jonathan, and a joyful great-grandmother to Liam and Chloe. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in caring for them - always with a warm smile and a meal prepared with love.

Her home was a haven for all who entered. Elisa's passion for cooking brought people together, and her nurturing spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She was known for her kindness, her enduring strength, and her ability to make everyone feel like family.

A funeral service to honor Elisa's life will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetary. Visitation will be Monday May 12, 2025 at 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 10:00am.

Elisa will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by making at donation to Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill (www.hillhousehospice.com)

I’ve never known a kindness in someone more than I saw in Nonna. I’ve never been loved and accepted more by a stranger before and likely never will again. Nonna, you had a light in you that made everyone feel warm, seen and cared for. Your presence will be missed in every room on every occasion but we will take with us your joy for life and love for family and friends. Love, Kelly (your girl). Sending kisses to heaven.

As long as I’ve known my friend Bianca, I’ve known her incredible, kind, vibrant Nonna Elisa. When we were in college and would spend summer weekends in Wasaga Beach, a visit to Nonna’s was always in the cards. She always welcomed me with open arms, incredible food, captivating stories - and a tour of the cured meat cellar. She had an incredible way of making me feel like she was my Nonna too. Whenever I attended family gatherings, Nonna Elisa would greet me and my wife Kelly with the biggest smile and hug, endearingly calling us “her girls” and always wanting to know what’s new in our lives. I will always cherish those memories, it is an honour to have known her. I have no doubt that her spirit will live on in the beautiful family she and her husband Nonno Luigi have built.
