In Loving Memory of Elias Vassiliadis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elias Vassiliadis on September 1, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on February 17, 1933, in Florina, Greece, to Sofia and Lambros, Elias was shaped by his family, faith, Greek heritage, and life experiences. He proudly served his country through his military service, carrying with him the strength, discipline, and determination that defined him throughout his life.

Elias was a strong, steadfast, and resilient man, with a caring heart beneath that strength. He loved deeply, protected those he cared for, and expressed his love through his presence, loyalty, and devotion to his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed hockey, basketball, soccer and especially his passion for weightlifting that he continued until his seventies.

Family was at the center of Elias’s world. He was a devoted husband to Eleni Vassiliadis and a loving father to Nick and Sophie Vassiliadis (Nelson Almeida). He was a proud grandfather to Chloe and Troy Almeida. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he took great pride in watching them grow.

Elias is survived by his beloved wife, Eleni; his children, Nick and Sophie; his son-in-law, Nelson; his grandchildren, Chloe and Troy; and his sister, Helen. He was predeceased by his brother, Nick.

A faithful Greek Orthodox Christian, Elias carried his faith and Greek heritage with him throughout his life. He leaves behind a family forever shaped by his strength, devotion, values, and love.
