In memory of

Elias Louis Vavaroutsos

April 1, 1935 -  February 26, 2022

Passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at the age of 86 after a 10 year battle with dementia. Loving Husband to Helen. Dear father to John, Kirk and Rose (Jason). Cherished grandfather to Lennox. Son of the late John and Rose Vavaroutsos. Brother to Kay, Bessy, George, Kyriakos, Peter, Chris and Bill.

Louis was born on April 1st, 1935 in Magoula, Sparti. He was never afraid of hard work. His job in Greece was to carry cement blocks for buildings. Later, when he moved to Canada with his family in 1956, he became a spot welder and eventually settled down as an owner and operator of a hot dog cart. Louis married the love of his life, Helen Kalamaras on September 4th, 1965. They had 3 children John, Kirk and Rose. He later gained a son in law Jason and grandson Lennox. Louis was the sweetest man that would do anything for anyone. It was appropriate that he was born on April Fool's day as he was always the Joker and loved to have fun with everyone. The greatest joys in Louis’s life were his wife and his children. His favourite thing to do was garden in the summers planting plenty of vegetables and flowers. His favourites were his tomatoes and his roses. Louis also had a huge love of Listening & Dancing to Music, especially Greek music. Later on in life he had a passion for early Elvis and the Gypsy Kings.
