In memory of

Elia (Leo) Gulin

May 15, 1929 - July 25, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elia (Leo) Gulin (May 15, 1929 – July 25, 2022).

A man of dignity, love and strength. There will be no other that compares to him, only those who follow in his footsteps. He has given this world a gift in representing what a true gentleman is. Leo showed us what hard work looks like, coming to Canada at a young age and working with his brothers (in-law) in the restaurant business to provide a comfortable life for his family. He was a man of dedication, hard work and perseverance. Life to him was about working hard, but it was also about living it to the fullest. He loved to cook and travel with family to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Cuba, to name a few. Many fond memories were made in Wasaga Beach where Leo enjoyed spending time at his cottage surrounded by his close family and extended relatives. Leo had a zest for life, and heart of gold. His smile instantly filled a room, made us want to take off our shoes and stay a while. His wisdom, happy nature, and unconditional love will be remembered, and forever cherished by those nearest and dearest to him.

A fiercely devoted husband, he is survived by his wife Thelma of 68 years, loving Dad to his three children Olga (Mike), Rita (James) and John (Valerie), and remembered with greatness by his grandchildren (1st and 2nd generations), and extended family and friends.

You will be missed so much, we honour and love you always. Nostrovia.

In accordance with Leo's wishes, a private visitation and burial will be held in his memory. Friends are welcome to leave condolences messages and stories on this webpage ('Guestbook' tab at the top right corner). Thank you for all of the love and support.
