On November 9th at the age of 79 Elfreda Solomon went home to be with the Lord after experiencing complications due to a major stroke and renal failure. Elfreda Solomon was born Elfreda Jones on February 24, 1944 in Somerton Jamaica WI to Uriah Jones and Adalma Farkinson. She was the fifth child of the pair.

Elfreda is known for her beautiful singing voice, her commitment to serving others, her love of young people and her dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. Elfreda lived an honourable and noble life. She always demonstrated persistence in the face of challenges. Her home was open to anyone to visit or stay when needed.

Elfreda was a natural caregiver and enjoyed taking care of other people. This passion led her to a 36 year career with Sick Kids Hospital. She worked as a healthcare professional in the nutrition, hematology and sterilization departments.

For over 63 years Elfreda has been active in the ministry. For 10 years she served in Studley Park Aposotlic Church in Jamaica and has served Bethel Apostolic Church in Toronto as an evangelist, Sunday School Teacher and church mother since 1970. She actively supported many missions through dedicating her time, and finances to helping others.

Elfreda is predeceased by her ex-husband Neville Solomon Sr., three brothers Hugh, Canute and Enos Jones and her two sisters, Lupeter Lovelace and Carol Jones.

Elfreda is survived by her two sisters, Melda Jones and Lena Allen, her two brothers, Clfton and Kenneth Jones. Her four children, Elizabeth Solomon, Deborah Shirley, Neville Solomon Jr., and Carrift Kenton Jones-Solomon. Her six grandchildren, David and Naomi Solomon, Lexcie-Ann and Nashaun Shirley and Tamara and Kenton Jones-Solomon, many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and of course her extended church family.

Elfreda’s life will be celebrated at Meadowview Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centre
7732 Mavis Road Brampton, ON L6Y 5L5 for the viewing on Friday Nov 24, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday November 25, 2023 with the final viewing taking place from 10am to 10:30 am and the service from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Bethel Apostolic Churches of Jesus Christ 1831 Weston Road, Toronto M9N 1V9 with an internment and reception to follow.
