In memory of

Elenka Damtsis

November 20, 1927 -  June 16, 2024

With sadness we say goodbye to our dear mother who was loved by everyone who knew her. She passed away peacefully at the Providence Health Centre at the age of 96.

She was a gifted seamstress and gardener. Known for her baking skills, she always contributed her specialties at family functions to everyone’s delight. Endowed with longevity, she was able to enjoy her family for many years and make many friends.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, survived by her children, John Damtsis, Sophia Crawford (nee Damtsis), Henry Crawford (son-in-law), her grandchildren, Paul Damtsis, Sarah Barron (nee Damtsis), Mark Barron (son-in-law), Briar Crawford and her great grandson, Evan.

She will be greatly missed.
Always in our hearts.

Dear John: While I barely recall your father, I will always remember your mother and her soft, sweet Macedonian voice. And yes, her floral and vegetable gardens were a treasure without question. In recent times, I recall her questioning me about the healthy yogurt I brought over at your delightful backyard gathering under the pagoda you built. Perhaps, my favourite amusement, though, is Teta Elenka walking around outside with her cordless phone tucked safely in her apron. I predict her many contacts will sorely miss her and that hotline to great chats. May she rest in peace. (John 3:16)

What a great lady, I always enjoyed being in her presence and her baking was so delicious. Her warmth and kindness was always there and I will miss her at our family outings.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. Nena always had a kind word to say about everyone. She loved her photos of every family member.
