In memory of

Eleanor Y. L. Leung

October 21, 1962 -  October 8, 2022

The Lee and Leung family is saddened to announce the loss of Eleanor, who passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2022 in her 59th year. Beloved wife to Frank Lee for 30 wonderful years. Proud mother to Jonathan (Jennifer), Austin and Samantha. Eleanor will also be dearly missed by her mother, three brothers, in-laws, and her nieces and nephew.

Eleanor was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to Canada in 1981. In high school, Eleanor made many lifelong friendships. After completing her post-secondary studies, Eleanor went on to work as an Accountant for several years. Eleanor got married in 1992 and after her first child was born, she decided to stay home. Eleanor’s greatest joy and accomplishment was being able to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her three children.

Eleanor eventually returned to work part-time as a lunchroom supervisor at the local public school, where she enjoyed working with the other lunchroom supervisors, school support staff, and teachers. Eleanor also worked part-time as a sales associate at a nearby department store and received many positive reviews from customers for the warm service that she provided.

Eleanor will be fondly remembered for being kind and thoughtful, always asking about others and offering her love and support. She was outgoing and friendly, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Eleanor was dedicated to her family and loved family gatherings, including Thursday dim sum lunches and going out for walks.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 9:00 – 10:00 am at York Funeral Centre. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am and an interment will take place at York Cemetery (Section 33). For those who wish to view the service remotely, a link to the live webcast will appear 10 minutes before the scheduled service time. In lieu of floral tributes, the Lee and Leung family kindly ask that you consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sunnybrook Hospital, or another charity of your choice in Eleanor’s memory. The Lee and Leung family greatly appreciates your ongoing support during this difficult time.
