In memory of

Eleanor Louise O'Day

December 22, 1937 -  February 13, 2021

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend to many was taken from us and united with the love of her life Michael on Saturday February 13/21
Mother to Julie (Dave), Janice (Steve), and Mike. Loving Grandmother to Jason (Amanda), Heather, Amanda (Derek), Erin, Paul (Becca) and Kristi (Josh)
Adoring Great grandmother to Alyssa, Emily, Ethan, Aurora, Olivia, Anastasia, Isabella, Annabelle, and Myles
Eleanor fostered over 40 babies throughout the years loving each like they were her own.
She was the most independent, and strong women. Every person who knew her was better for it. She was a bright light who’s positive attitude and realistic views made the world a better place.
Family, and friends were of the utmost importance to her. Her dogs over the years were her children, Gypsy, and Honey among others were spoiled rotten, and loving their lives.
Eleanor worked for Bell Canada and once she began her family made the choice to stay home and raise her children.
Returning to Bell in 1995 once the kids were grown.
Eleanor and Michael purchased a cottage in Bancroft back in 1983.
Home is where the heart is and that cottage became their home, where so many amazing memories were made with family and friends.
They had a beautiful home in Florida where they would spend their winters, making many friends and enjoying the hot Florida sun.
Eleanor will be missed, and forever loved by everyone who knew her. She was the wind beneath our wings, always helping us to soar.
Fly high, until we meet again.

Great Grandma,
You will be missed immensely. I will miss,
and have missed watching for the humming birds with you in the summer, spending some weekends at the cottage, and helping clean up the yard. I will miss playing card games with you and hearing your laugh. Please tell Great Grandpa I say hello and that I love him. My heart will always carry a piece of you, fly high, and smile big, you’re happier now that you’re with Great Grandpa.
I love and will always remember you,
Alyssa xoxo

This lovely lady was a strong force on Bentley Lake .... I loved talking with her and ribbing and riling her up ... which ended up in much laughter ... I'll never forget her laugh ... God bless this lady and I hope her eternal peace and her family solace in the knowledge that she is at peace and having a great time with Mike once again. xo

Eleanor we are missing you so much already. We had so many great times together. The only positive is that you are back with your beloved husband Mike.
Julie and Janice I know this is an extremely hard time as I know how close you both were to your mother but she will always be in your hearts as well as the rest of her wonderful family your husbands, all the grandchildren and the great grandchildren. She was very loved and always appreciated it.

Growing up the only person I would allow to brush my hair was my grandmother. She had told me it was a magical hairbrush and that's why it never hurt when she would brush my hair.

Mom every important event in my life you were my biggest cheerleader. When I thought there was something I couldn't do you used to tell me "Work hard, set your mind to it and there is nothing you can't do, you can do anything." You were there when my children were born it was almost like they waited for you to get there. Family was your life. Thanksgivings at the cottage will never be the same. I had better learn quick your secret to pie crust. Your dogs were a huge love for you and boy do they miss you. Mom you always lived life on your terms there was no stopping you. Smart, stubborn, independent, proud and loving are a few words that describe you. Nothing held you back. Always, always the most positive person. If there was something getting me down you would always turn it into a positive showing me how much worse things could be. This world is a much darker place because one of its brightest lights has gone out. I know you are at peace now and not in pain so I am looking at the positive and am grateful for that. Miss you and love you always Mom. Until we meet again xoxox
