My thoughts are with Chris and family at this difficult time. I remember many family occasions with Eleanor including birthdays, Christmas dinners and Mother's Day celebrations. She brought life to the conversation and loved to laugh. I will always remember how kind she was to my own Mom, once my Mom was on her own. Eleanor sent many beautiful handwritten cards through the mail just to check in on her periodically. It was a beautiful gesture and meant a lot to me....
Hi Mom!
I love so much about you.
You were born a teacher. You taught your kids every second of your days. he cue cards, the plays, the math at the swimming pool, skiing in frigid weather, swimming lessons, piano lessons... the list is endless.
But!.. You're keen sense of humour. That quick wit was always there, surprising me around every corner. You had so many incredible expressions, facially and verbally., I could barely keep up!
I have always thought that you are the most intelligent person I ever knew. That came up in many conversations with my friends, my kids, and acquaintances. Remarkable.. I wonder if I ever told you that... I love you, Jane.
For Chris:
"Long may you run
Long may you run
Although these changes have come
With your chrome heart shining in the sun
Long may you run"
Second verse of Neil Young's song .... but of course I know you know that ...
