In memory of

Elaine Agatha Golding

April 7, 1944 -  April 6, 2023

Elaine Agatha Golding, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 6, 2023, at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. She was born on April 7, 1944, in the district of Nonsuch Portland, Jamaica, to the late Gwendolyn and Othniel Bishop, as the forth of twelve children.

At the age of 27, Elaine migrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in pursuit of a better life for her family. She graduated from George Brown College and Sheridan College, obtaining diplomas in Accounting and Nursing, respectively. Subsequently, she had a successful 17-year career in the manufacturing of home products.

Elaine will be remembered for her vibrant and optimistic nature, her contagious laughter, and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. She took pleasure in gardening and traveling and was an active member of St. Hilary's Anglican Church and the Mississauga 55+ Cari-Can Group.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, James, and her children, Courtney and Sophia. She also leaves behind her brothers Ivan, Dervin, and Joseph; sisters Winnifred, Herma, and Hermine; brother-in-law Michael; sisters-in-law Albertha, Beverly, Lena, Iona, and Yvonne; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Though Elaine's absence will be deeply felt, her memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
