Eileen Mary Hermitage

July 21, 1928 -  March 16, 2021

In loving memory of Eileen Mary Hermitage

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eileen Mary Hermitage peacefully with family at her side. Beloved mother of Penny De Carlo, Andy Hermitage, Jill Page (Paul Fleury), Mary Hermitage, Barb Hoffer (Dick Hoffer). Much loved grandchildren Larry Page, Vanessa Page (Kevin Robertson), Sheri De Carlo, Dave De Carlo, Justin Hoffer (Lori Hoffer) and Jenni Hoffer. Adored by great-grandchildren Jake Page, Kennedy Page, Paige Kinsella, Cameron Hoffer, and Adalyn Hoffer.

Born in Ilford, England, Eileen came to Canada in 1957 and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital before going to the Toronto Catholic School Board for 32 years until she retired. Mum had a smile that could light up a room, a wonderful sense of humour, and always full of patience and guidance. Her guidance started with putting the kettle on and making tea to solve any problems. She will be greatly missed until we meet again.

Online condolences can be shared at www.mountpleasantgroup.com.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

i am very sorry for the family's loss which i read about in today's Toronto Star.
MY father was William Reginald Hermitage born in London England. My family grew up in Montreal. There are Hermitages in the Toronto area presently which are my relatives.
My eldest son has done quite a bit of research work on the Hermitage family tree and wondered what was the name of Eileen Mary Hermitage's husband?
Perhaps someone in the family would be good enough to email me with the name of
Eileen's husband and perhaps the whereabouts of their marriage and the year.
thank you and again my sincere condolences. linda logan

So sorry for your loss, my condolences go out to the entire family at this very difficult time. I met your mum on a few occasions at Horner where she and Penny would go out on day trips on the bus!! Working with Penny for many years I was able to hear some family stories and the good old days. I do know that Eileen was loved deeply . As you gather together to lean on each other I hope that many stories and laughs are shared . My thoughts are with you my prayers surround you. Blessings🙏🌈
