ROWLANDS, Edwin Watkins “Ed”

It is with great sadness the family announce that Edwin Rowlands passed away on October 1, 2021 at the age of 91, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Loving and devoted husband of Marion for over 67 years. Beloved father of Susan (Michael) and Debbie (Brian). Cherished grandfather of Marianna and Nathan and great grandfather of Jake. Ed will also be missed by many extended family members and friends. He lived most of his life in Brampton, retiring to Fenelon Falls before moving to Whitby to be close to Family. Ed was blessed with a wonderful singing voice. He enjoyed singing in many church and community choirs and won awards as a young soloist. Ed will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his great sense of humour and his love of life. He was a good man. The family wish to extend their appreciation to the Central East Home and Community Care Support Services, caring and compassionate doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Team at Lakeridge Health as well as staff who provided care to Ed on the 5G unit. The family also want to extend their appreciation to the staff at Pringle Creek Retirement Home for professionalism and care shown to Ed and his family. As per Ed’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service and a private family internment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa,(South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787).
