In memory of

Edward Johnson

August 6, 1963 -  December 12, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected, but peaceful passing of Edward Johnson of Oshawa, Ontario on December 12, 2024 at the age of 61 years.

Edward, better known as Ed to all who knew him, was born August 6, 1963 in Dover, Newfoundland. At the young age of 18 years, he met the love of his life, Colleen. They enjoyed 42 years together before Colleen's death in 2023.

Ed was a hard worker, working in the construction and trucking industries for many years before his early retirement. He enjoyed playing the lottery and especially loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and hockey. In his retirement, Ed liked playing his guitar, walking his beloved dog, Brandy and spending time in the United States. He was largely interested in his gardens and considered himself the "plant whisperer". He was a loving and silly father, grandfather and great-grandfather, always joking and kidding around. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life; he will be so sadly missed.

Ed was predeceased by his loving wife Colleen, parents Flossie (nee Collins) and George, and brothers Gord and Willie. He leaves behind four children, Kelly (Lee), Amanda (John), Krystle (Darren) and his only son Bradley. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Adam, Jessica (Curtis), Noah, Matthew, Irelynd, Tyler, Kaylee, Jacob, Colton and Amelia. Ed's most favourite time was spent with his two great grandchildren Thomas and Sophia. He had a number of siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends that will miss him deeply.

He will be buried on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa, Ontario. Services will begin at noon.

Dear Dad,
I will miss you immensely; I will miss you listening to my long vents; I will miss you asking me for help to use your phone or resetting your passwords; I will miss cooking for you and teaching you how to cook (even though you never listened); I will miss your silly jokes and all your advice (even though I never listened); I will miss telling you how you don't have to worry so much; I will miss reminiscing in memories about mom and the "good old days". I know you and mom are dancing in the sky, with mom singing with the angels the way only mom could. Forever your daughter, Kelly
