Edward "Ed" George Hussey

August 27, 1947 -  February 26, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edward George Hussey in his 76th year on February 26, 2023. Ed’s genuine warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbours at home in Scarborough and at his beloved Steenburg Lake. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Ed was raised in Scarborough and built his life with a positive attitude and a determined spirit putting himself through school. A successful business entrepreneur, starting out as a Tool and Die Maker, going on to be a Manufacturing Engineering Manager and eventually Ed established the successful Craiglee Home Improvements for the past 35 years.
With a smile on his face and as a natural storyteller, Ed made a lasting impact on all who met him and never hesitated to provide help and support to those in his life. “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Ed’s life was a life well lived, with a love for his golden retriever; with a great sense of adventure; a love for travel and for high speed especially in his pride and joy, his Checkmate speed boat.
Ed will be forever missed by his best friend and loving wife of 56 years, Sandra (nee Aylwin); his children, Jenny Winter (Ted) and Craig Hussey (June); and grandchildren Jessica, Evan, Brandon, and Sabrina; Ed’s sister, Linda Dexter (David); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and lifelong friends, Gord Rickerby and Brian Ainsley. Ed is pre-deceased by his parents, Edgar George (Ted) and Florence Hussey (nee Frappier)

Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Saturday March 4th, 2023 for a Memorial Visitation from 10:00am - 11:00am. Memorial Service to follow at 11:00am. Reception to follow in the Kennedy Suite.

A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
