Edna Louise Allen

January 30, 1932 -  February 1, 2023

Edna Louise Allen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Louise Allen (Pledge) on February 1, 2023, at the wonderful age of 91. Reunited with her husband Jim Allen, she was a loving and dedicated mother to Debbie Turner (Brian), Brenda Grape, Brad Allen (Laurie), grandmother to Ryan Turner, Katelyn Joslin (Pat), Mathew and Samantha Grape, Erika and Taylor Allen, and great grandmother to Maggie and Rosie Joslin. Edna lived her life with a passion and commitment to truly make a difference. Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Edna, at the age of 18 boarded a bus to Toronto where she met her husband, raised her family and through her career and extensive community involvements touched the lives of many people. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.

A private family burial was held on Monday February 6, 2023. A Celebration of Edna's Life will be held at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Thursday March 23rd, 2023 at 2:00pm with visitation 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to a charity of your choice.

Brenda, Debbie and Brad,

We are thinking of you at this difficult time. Your mom was a tough cookie and a force to be reckoned with. I'll always remember her fun, yet no-nonsense approach to life and the many fun get-togethers back in our younger days. I'm glad I was able to see her not that long ago. In her memory we have made a $100 donation to Tourette Canada.

DCAT chorus was a big part of our lives. I worked with Edna on many social events and my greatest memory was Xmas's when Dave & I hosted the DCAT party. The highlight was Jim & Edna aka Mr. & Mrs. Claus. They brought so much joy to all our children & grandchildren. I loved going to their home at Christmas to see all the decorations, inside & out.
Edna was a power of strength and I admired her immensely. We should all be as definite. The DCAT family misses her & Jim terribly.
My thoughts go out to all her family and know she will be missed.

Regards
Ellie & Dave Cameron
