Edith Harriet Wilson (nee Hawkins)

May 21, 1931 - September 6, 2022

With her family by her side, Edith passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga – Edith was 91.

Dear mother of Susan, Scott (Cathy), Diana (Deepak), and Deborah; loving grandmother to Robert, Sasha, Aaron, Stuart, Glenn, Matthew, Brendon, Vanessa, and Erin; loving great-grandmother to Jade, Jayda, Elaina, Aly, and Levi. Edith is survived by her siblings, Ted, Aileen, and Tom.

Edith had many friends whom she cherished; her sense of humour, sound advice, and generosity will be greatly missed. An avid reader, Edith rarely missed a Jeopardy! question. Her love of travel took her to many destinations throughout her life; the last being a solo trip to Ireland for her 85th birthday.

After cremation, her family will advise a celebration of Edith’s life with final internment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto where she will rest with her parents, Walter and Dinah Hawkins.

You have brought much joy to my life and to my children's and their children's lives. You taught me so much which I'll treasure always. I saw your strength, resilience, and generosity. You were so smart; your people skills are tremendous, and you tackled all obstacles with dignity and grace. We love music because of you, we cook because of you, and we can tackle anything because of you and your tenacity. Our lives are enriched and the bond of family will live forevermore because of you my sweet angel.
