It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edilma Sierra (Mami Ima). She was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and aunt. She is survived by her son Manuel Antonio, her son Hugo Alberto and his wife Mary, by her daughter Carmen Edilma and her husband Nindi, her daughter Laura Beatriz and her husband Mickey, her son-in-law Peter and her daughters Elvia Mercedes and Nohora Patricia.
Mami Ima was devoted to her family. She always had the spirit of an enterprising woman seeking to strengthen the family income in various household activities, including growing flowers, her favorite passion inherited from Grandma Dolores. She began her day singing at five in the morning and singing she went to bed.
Family and friends always enjoyed her fine sense of humor, present even in the last moments of her life, when her funny and timely note mitigated the ailments of her physical condition. Mami Ima began her trip to paradise with full mental lucidity and excellent memory. Days before her departure, her sister from her soul Aunt Beatriz, ended her phone call by telling her : “We will see each other soon in heaven” to which Mami Ima replied: “… but how are we going to recognize each other if we will be a couple of skulls there?”
We would appreciate donations to The Parkinson’s Society of Canada in lieu of flowers.
