In memory of

Eddy Marlet

September 18, 1925 -  September 20, 2016

Eddy Marlet (Epaminontas Maraletos), born in Greece on September 18, 1925, passed away peacefully in his home on September 20th, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine Marlet, children Costa Marlet and Mary Marlet, grandchildren Michael Cooper, Alexis Cooper, and Alexander Marlet, brother Themis Maraletos, in-laws Angelo and Ismini Loukatos, nephew and niece Gerry and Helen Loukatos (with fiancé Emil Simeonov).
Eddy was the face of Seniors Restaurant located at Yonge and St. Clair in Toronto, Ontario, that he owned and operated with his family for 51 years. He developed many lifelong relationships with his customers and friends that will be forever remembered by the family and will surround them with comfort at this time.
Eddy was a very determined man and achieved all of his goals with a brilliant smile. Eddy would work from 6am to 10pm every day all of his life and would still be dedicated to his grandchildren, spending time with them, and caring for them. He always paused his day to teach and empower the family members, guide them in their careers and life paths, and support them to no end. He was a very generous man and would give anything to make his family happy and keep everyone healthy.
Eddy will always be remembered as a vibrant man, running to catch the train even in his 80s, always smiling, joking, and philosophizing. He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart and soul and was a father or grandfather figure to all of the children in his life.
Eddy, we will love you and remember you forever.

Eddy brought enjoyment to thousands of patrons during his lifetime with memorable food in a wonderful restaurant. But that is only one facet of the man which those of us who dined at Seniors experienced. His family and friends knew his full measure, and our thoughts and hearts are with them.

I was lucky enough to meet Eddy at his home where I was a dinner guest just last year. He and his wife Katherine made me feel welcome and at home. I also had the opportuinity to eat at his restaurant a few years back, and both he and his wife made sure that me, and my mother and father had a place to sit while we waited for our table and they served us bread while we waited. I am glad I had both of those moments in life and will remember them. God bless.
