It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, who peacefully went to heaven on January 20, 2022 at the age of 77. He is survived by his beloved wife – Nho Trinh; his loving daughter Anh (Cat), son John (Hang), daughter Dung (Yume), daughter Linh (Peter) & son Duke (Hien) and his 13 precious grandchildren whom he adored so much (Mai Anh, Philip, Tuyet Anh, Tuyet Han, Tuyet Mi, Sean, Yvy, Angel, Christopher, Michael, Vincent, Vivian and Dylan)

Duc was born on September 13, 1945 in Saigon, Vietnam . In 1982, he courageously took his wife and 5 young children, fled Vietnam in search of freedom and to seek a better life for his family. Duc settled in Brantford, Ontario where he worked at W. Ross McDonald School for the Blind and retired in 2011. Duc is forever grateful to the United Church in Brantford and its Church members for sponsoring his family to Canada, thus allowing his family to flourish and succeed in the new Homeland.

Duc had a love for life and lived every moment with passion and purpose. He can be seen in his garden planting, taking pride in harvesting and enjoying the fruits of his labour. Duc also loved to go fishing, travelling but above else, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Duc was a doting grandfather to his 13 grandchildren who he would love to spoil with trips to McDonald’s, Dollar stores and Walmart for candies. Duc was a true family man, he showed great affection and encouragement to both his children and grandchildren. He set a beautiful example of how hard work, determination and perseverance can help you achieve anything you set your mind to.

Families and Friends remember Duc as a kind and generous man with a big heart and a big smile always on his face. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

A private memorial service will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Meadowvale Cemetery and Funeral Centre, immediately followed by the Burial service. Friends and Family are invited to attend the outdoor burial service at approximately 3pm. A live stream link of the memorial service will be available at 1:15pm .
