In memory of

Dr. Vincent Chi Wai Mak

October 8, 1960 -  August 3, 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dr. Vincent Chi Wai Mak, who passed away peacefully at the age of 61 surrounded by his family on August 3rd, 2022 at 12:45pm.

Vincent was a remarkable and talented doctor, having lent his services and wisdom to many people during his lifetime. He was born in Hong Kong in 1960, and graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1984. He was married to Teresa in 1985, and they immigrated to Canada in 1988 to start a new life and family. He received his Fellowship of Medicine with The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1996.

Vincent was also a man of many passions and talents. He was especially fond of playing the keyboard and guitar, and was also a talented singer. His love for the great Canadian outdoors and his love for travel spent with loved ones brought him many cherished memories.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-seven years, Teresa; his children: Rachel, Vivian and Kelvin; and numerous other relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Vincent was predeceased by his parents: his father, Kwai Kin and his mother, Kwok Kuk.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Vincent for those invited, on Friday, August 12th at 9:30am, at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres.

I was shocked and heartbroken when I heard the news of Vince's passing. He was a kind and lovely man who I was fortunate enough to work with at Mackenzie Hospital as a fellow rheumatologist. He always had a smile and story, and was available to provide guidance when asked. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I heard of your sudden departure from us all. My memories of you were always a kind, calm, collected and especially caring individual who helped many as a medical practitioner.

We share the exact same first name, date of birth and you being my god father is surely something unique and special that I will always remember and cherish each year on that date.

Rest In Peace knowing that you have done good for this world in your life time and will be remembered by many.
