In memory of

Douglas Frank Mitchell

April 18, 1940 -  October 26, 2022

Douglas Frank Mitchell passed peacefully at Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto. Remembered with love and affection by his devoted wife of 60 years Sandra; loving daughters Carolyn (Frank) and Paula; adoring grandchildren Amanda (Jason); Mitchell (Sarah); great-granddaughter Ray. Doug will be forever missed by brother-in-law David and sister-in-law Deborah; niece Chelsea (Matt); nephews Stephen (Holly, Fenway) and Adam and fondly remembered by many cousins, extended family and dear friends. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Margaret Mitchell and remembered by his brother Bob.

Doug loved his family more than anything. He lived his life to the fullest with more fun and laughter than most will ever experience. He loved his adventures, with Sandra at his side, exploring the world by cruise ship, driving through the countryside for a picnic, travelling to the Finger Lakes in the fall colours, playing blackjack in Vegas or camping down east and boiling fresh lobsters. He had a passion for the great outdoors as an avid golfer, boater, fisherman, hunter, camper, backyard gardener and family BBQ’er.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Bridgepoint Hospital for the incredible care and support they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bridgepoint Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully welcomed.

Family and friends will be received at a memorial service to be held Sunday, November 6 at 2:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto. Reception to follow.
