In memory of

李黄取娥 Dorothy T Lee

June 23, 1933 -  December 24, 2023

Dorothy Lee passed away suddenly in Sunnybrook Hospital on December 24, 2023 at the age of 90 after a brief illness.

Proud mother and mother-in-law to Lillian (Ho-Fu), Victoria (Philip), Perry (Florence), and David (Joyce), devoted and doting grandmother to Jennifer (Matt) and Steven, Raven (Cassandra) and Neil, Christopher and Sabrina, and Evan (Erika). Predeceased in June 2022 by her husband, Kee York.

Born in Guangdong, China, Dorothy will be remembered as a force of nature - intelligent, tough, resilient, never one to shy away from responsibility, and selfless. Her meals were legendary.

Many thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Sunnybrook for the care they provided at the end of her life.

Donations, if desired, may be directed to Parkinson Canada: www.parkinson.ca or to a food bank/charity of your choice in remembrance of Dorothy’s dedication to feeding her family well.

Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Though I did not know her well, it is through my close friendship with the Hébert Lee family that I was acutely aware of how important she was and how much she was loved. The few times I did meet her, I was so impressed with her buoyant energy, brilliant smile and caring nature. It is hard to say goodbye to such a life force. No doubt she will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing to you all.
