In memory of

Dorothy Clementine De Souza

November 23, 1934 -  August 16, 2023

It is with immense sadness that the De Souza family announces the passing of their beloved mother, Dorothy Clementine De Souza. She was 88 years old. Predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Franklin De Souza. Dorothy is survived by her devoted children, Mario De Souza (Esther), Savio De Souza (Barbara) and Sharon Mann (John). She is also survived by the joys of her life, her four grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha, Madison and Dominic, as well as many friends and extended family. Dora was predeceased by her mother Angeline Mary Lobo.
Dorothy was an incredible force who made the difficult decision in 1972 to move her very young family from Mumbai, India to Toronto, Canada to join her husband, Frank, who had immigrated a couple of years earlier. She created a warm and loving home always filled with the delicious aromas of her home-cooked meals, working tirelessly to support her family and ultimately retiring from a long career at Bank of Montreal. Dorothy was devoted to her faith and very involved with her church. She always provided much love and support to her family and friends and was a compassionate person whose passion was caring for others before herself.
Family and Friends will be received at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE- MISSISSAUGA 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580 on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 for a time of visitation from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at 9:30am, located at 4070 Central Parkway East, Mississauga.
Dorothy’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ShareLife (sharelife.org).

Our aunt Dorothy was a wonderful person. She was loving and giving and we have decades of good memories of her and her family. She was greatly loved and will be missed but not forgotten. Thanks for sharing your life and love with us.

I'm so very sorry to learn of the passing of my good friend, Dorothy. The first time we met was when I gave her a ride home from church
Ever since then I'd call her once a month and if she didn't hear from me, she'd call me. I spent many hours chatting with her. She's resting peacefully now. My condolences to the children who she always spoke of with joy.
