In memory of

Dorothy Barton

November 30, 1933 -  May 3, 2022

In the late morning of May 3, 2022, our precious mother, Dorothy Barton of Scarborough died at the age of 88. Dorothy Ellen Chapman was born to Sirvestor and Clara on November 30, 1933 in Midland, Ontario. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, Edith, Tom, Dalton and Bobby. On December 2, 1955, she married Malcolm Victor Barton (deceased, 2009) and together with love and devotion raised three children, David Victor, Linda Ellen (deceased, 2003) and Kim Roxanne.

She loved to be called Nanny and adored her 9 grandchildren, from David and Lauren - Stephanie, Ayla, Victor; Linda and Sean - Jonathan, Nicole, Bonnie-Lynn; from Kim and Andy - Michael, Michelle, Nicholas and 2 great grandchildren Audrey and Emery. She was a long time and active member of St. Giles’ Anglican Church and Grace Anglican Church.

A funeral will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre on Sunday, May 15th. Visitation is at 1 pm, a service at 2pm and reception following. Dorothy was very social and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers we ask that on her behalf that we make this a happy celebration.

We wish to express our deepest condolences. Your mom was a great lady and always made us laugh. Last time we were with her she was telling us stories about growing up in Victoria Harbour. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family. We hope you will all be comforted with all the precious memories you have of your very special mom and grandmother.

Dear friend of David. Known Mrs. Barton since I was 7 years old. She has always treated me like family. Never had a problem talking to her and we would laugh at my many stupid over the top remarks. She would always take my side whenever Mr. Barton had the upper hand. His zingers would scorch my eyes brows. I had nothing but the best times being at their home. Living a long life is something to cherish and not to mourn about. Say Hi to Mr. Barton for me Mrs. Barton. Will cherish those memories that I have. Love Basil
